In what promises to be an incisive and engaging look at ongoing events, the YCL Speaker Series is pleased to welcome Ian Shapiro and Sam Hill along with Paolo Zannoni to discuss the impact of Donald Trump on American policies.
About the Speakers:
Ian Shapiro is Sterling Professor of Political Science at Yale University, where he also serves as Henry R. Luce Director of the MacMillan Center for International and Area Studies. He has written widely and influentially on democracy, justice, and the methods of social inquiry. Ian Shapiro is Sterling Professor of Political Science at Yale, where he directs the MacMillan Center for International and Area Studies. His newest book, Politics Against Domination was published by Harvard University Press in 2016.
Sam Hill is one of Royal Bank of Canada’s senior UK economists. He brings to this role a deep knowledge of the UK market, having worked since 2010 as their UK gilts strategist. Prior to joining RBC Capital Markets, Sam was at Threadneedle Investments where he was a fixed income fund manager for six years. He previously held the position of research associate at Durham Business School. Sam holds an economics degree from the University of Durham and is a CFA charter holder. Royal Bank of Canada Investment Management (USA) Limited is one of only a handful of London-based SEC-registered investment advisers that offers discretionary and non-discretionary investment management services to US persons.
Paolo Zannoni was for many years a Partner at Goldman Sachs with responsibility for Italy and, more recently, Russia. He is currently a Senior Fellow at Yale’s MacMillan Center for International and Area Studies and a visiting faculty member at the Yale School of Management.
