Contrary to popular opinion, THE Game is still being played each year. This year it will be at Harvard, and simulcast in London at a new location in Convent Garden, on Bedford Street. I know that it does not rank particularly highly as a sporting spectacle to anyone with a loyal Eli heart. However, think of it as an annual charity event where we pretend to listen to our confused friends from Harvard as they try to tell us that having a better football team means something important. The good news is that while performing this generous act of charity and kindness, you can enjoy a great party, with lots of other loyal Eli, and occasionally there will be heart stopping minute where you inexplicably think, “wait a second, we might just win it this year”. That thought, as with many other momentary moments of madness, will pass.
