UPDATE: to avoid clashing with the Yale Day of Service on the 12th, we've moved the country walk back one week to the 19th. -- Scott

After a long hiatus and several requests to revive it, the Yale Club is happy to bring back a series of country walks in the environs of London.  To lead off this new series, join fellow club members and friends for a day walk through a beautiful stretch of the Thames Valley west of London.  Charming villages, beech woods, an ancient water mill and a long stretch of the river await you!

Meet 9:30 near the ticket island in the vicinity of platform 8 at Paddington station to catch the 0957 train to Oxford, arriving at Cookham at 10:34.  After walking for a couple of hours, we'll lunch at a pub, then continue our walk through the afternoon before catching the 17:21 back to London, arriving about 18:15.  Tickets are £11 return, but a group of four can buy four tickets for the price of two, so grab three fellow Yalies and save!

In dry weather you can manage with sneakers, but if the forecast is for showers, consider sturdier shoes.  It's worth packing a jacket and something to drink as well.

I hope you can join us!

Cheers,
