About the Event:
Join Victoria and Nixi for the second YCL Country Walk of 2016, alongside our special guests, the 2016 British Bulldogs, to walk and watch some of the Yale crews row at Henley.
In past years, this relaxing day has been a great opportunity to show the summer interns a bit of England outside the capital. We will take the 9:12 train from London Paddington to Henley-on-Thames, amble to Hambleden and Medmenham (stopping for a pub lunch), looping back to Henley, then crossing the Thames from Bucks to Berks County to watch the Henley Royal Regatta semi-finals.
Please wear sturdy/water-repellent walking gear in anticipation of muddy riverbanks and possible rain, as well as some dosh for food and bev.
This will also be a great chance to see some of the Yale rowing boats. The following crews will be there:
The Lightweight team is taking an 8+, a 4+, and (we think) a 4- (a straight four, no cox).
The Heavyweight team is taking an 8+ but we're not sure if they have any other boats competing as well.)
Hope to see you there!
