"Fostering a community of lifetime development for our alumni and students"

The Yale Club of London Mentoring Programme was founded in November 2016 in order to ‘to access the breadth of the Yale community's knowledge and experience for all alumni and students’. Upon announcement of the program, we received overwhelming response from the membership, which validated what we already knew: there is great interest in such an effort. We immediately had 45 Founding Mentors join the program. After a few highly successful years, the programme took a hiatus due to the relocation of the leadership team. We hope to re-launch it soon.

How it works:

  1. General guidelines: Confidential. 1-to-1. Personalised.

  2. Membership: The program is open to both alumni and current students. Members can be both mentors and mentees. To join the program, simply fill out the mentor or mentee signup form [forthcoming].

  3. Process: The programme leadership makes matches between Mentors and Mentees and makes initial introductions.

  4. Meetings: Mentees will then meet with Mentors for sessions consisting of 3 meetings over 3 months.

  5. Continuity: After the end of their first series of sessions, if the mentor and mentee wish to continue working together, they are of course free to do so.

  6. Assessment: The programme leadership tracks the success of the program and the of quality of matches. For that reason, there are evaluation forms to be filled at the end of each mentorship session, and by participating both Mentors and Mentees agree to complete these forms.
