The Yale Club is delighted to once again invite members to its annual festive holiday dinner. It will be held on Monday, 4 December, at The Kings Head Pub in Stafford Street W1. In addition to a warm social event and a delicious meal, in keeping with tradition, we have exciting speakers:
James Ford (SY '11) a solicitor specialising in compliance and transparency and Stephanie Hare, a researcher, broadcaster and author specialising in the ethics of technology will be speaking on AI, addressing matters such as the PM's recent summit on Frontier AI Safety and the explosion in popularity of Generative AI (eg ChatGPT). Other member working in the field will bring in issues such as frontline benefits and risks for SMEs, applications in health care, and other highly topical issues. It promises to be a topical and interesting event: space is strictly limited by the venue to 60 people (we are limiting quests to just one per member) -- and over 50% of the seats booked out in the first 48 hours -- so do please register soon.

Price: The base price is £45 which includes a three-course dinner. While this is a bit more expensive than previous years, it reflects the cost (without profit) to the Club of the meal, including PayPal fees and service for the waitstaff. To make the event as inclusive as possible, the Club is also offering a number of subsidised tickets at £30 for members who feel this would be more affordable: if this is applicable to you, please select 'Special Rate'. There are also steak and cheese plate options (which come with a supplement). If you would like these, please choose the appropriate category. Everyone else please use 'Standard Rate'.
Donations: To further support the effort to make entry-level tickets available, we are again asking for donations. If you are able to contribute to the cost of helping your fellow alums to attend, please go to the donations page. We are grateful for donations of all sizes. Drinks: In line with cost of living and personal preferences, we have decided to keep drinks and food separate this year. The prices mentioned above include dinner only, with drinks purchased separately.
